Printer ink and toner Cartridges At times it is a problem getting ink cartridges locally due to various factors. EVAS the national contract supplier of VA computer packages for the blind Has agreed to be a source for ink cartridges.  This move will facilitate procurement in some locations. The following E-mail was sent to all in VA Blind Rehab Service informing them of the service. The VIST Coordinators in your area should be aware. Subject: Printer ink and toner EVAS the company with the national contract has agreed to be a source for any ink cartridges and toner cartridges whether for a contract printer or not. If printers were provided prior to the national contract, EVAS will provide the service of being a source. There is no requirement to use EVAS.  Some Coordinators may find using EVAS as a trouble free method to order. The best way to approach this would be for the VIS Coordinator to e-mail EVAS and provide the information necessary to identify the cartridge required. The printer type and the numbers of the printer ink or toner cartridges. EVAS can then provide a stock number, availability of the item and a price. This will assist the Coordinator in requesting the item through P&SAS. Once again it needs to be made clear that EVAS does not have a contract to provide all ink cartridges and is offering this as a value added service.  Coordinators Should feel free to order from other sources if so desired. I have included “cc” the members of the Computers Work group and Kimberly Cowen-Tucker the NAC contact person for our work group. This is another example of BRS working to improve service to the veterans and field staff as well.
