Creating Internet Radio Link Files for The PlexTalk PTP1
If you want to create Internet Radio files that will work with the PlexTalk PTP1, and you use either WinAmp or Windows Media Player on your desktop computer, you can do so quite easily with NotePad.
For WinAmp:
- Find a radio station that will play in WinAmp on your computer.
- Save the radio station as a bookmark.
- Open the WinAmp Bookmark Editor.
- Tab to the Bookmarks list and select the radio station you want.
- Tab to the Edit button and select it.
- Tab to the File Edit textbox and copy the URL to the clipboard.
- Open Notepad and paste the clipboard to the Notepad editor.
- Save the file with the name you want and add the ".m3u" file extension.
- You can now close Notebook, the WinAmp Bookmark Editor, and Winamp if you want.
- To test the new internet radio link, go to the folder and the filename that you just created , select it, and hit Enter to see if the file will play in WinAmp.
For Windows Media Player:
- Find a radio station that will play in Windows Media Player on your computer.
- Open the File menu and select Properties.
- Tab to the Location textbox and copy the URL to the clipboard.
- Open Notepad and paste the clipboard to the Notepad editor.
- Save the file with the name you want and add the ".asx" file extension.
- You can now close Notebook, the Properties list, and Windows Media Player if you want.
- To test the new internet radio link, go to the folder and the filename that you just created , select it, and hit Enter to see if the file will play in Windows Media Player.
Once you have created a successful internet radio link file, you can copy these to the PlexWebRadio folder on your PlexTalk PTP1. If you like, you can create subfolders to organize these by Genre.
